I’m a bit of an eco-zealot, on the quiet. Quiet, in that I mostly allow my paintings do the ‘talking’ to reveal the beauty of the natural world. Art can be a bridge to help us connect with the landscape, offering new ways of looking at the living environment and leading to a better understanding of our place within it. I want my art to do that.
So, as another way to get this message over, I was delighted to be asked by film-maker Kaya Ensor to be involved in a short film about sustainability for Waitrose. I was interviewed by National Geographic photographer Matthieu Paley, to talk about being inspired by the natural world, my wild garden, regenerative farming and the importance of knowing the provenance of my food.
